You say you want respect for your
"religion." However, respect must be earned - not given. Islam
deserves NO respect because:
In a protest against violence in Assam between native Assamese and supposed Bangladeshi Muslim settlers, which claimed dozens of lives -- Muslims in Mumbai organized demonstration on 11 Aug 2012, wherein they unleashed ruthless vandalism of public property and assaults on security officers. They tried to molest 25 female police constables, who were on duty at nearby railway station. One of the molested constables suffered mental shock and committed suicide. So, who said there were no Islamic terrorist in India?

In many situations, Muhammad waged war for the purpose of revenge, such as the attack on the Lihyan, in which the people were clearly not prepared for war and saved themselves only by fleeing into the hills (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 718)
He also attacked the people of Ta'if as soon as he had the opportunity to order to get even for their rejection of him (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 280 & 872).
When Muslim armies attacked India and savaged the land, they were following their profits (not misspelled on purpose) example, as per qur'anic instructions.

Pandering to these sick psychos has been the hallmark of the Indian
govt. whether at the Center or in states (Congress, Samajwadi party Janta Dal
United and now even the BJP) for votes. Considering it takes more effort to
persuade an educated person to vote for them, they are happy to garner votes
from these bangladeshis (with the mentality of a lemming) resulting in the mess
that is India today. The Constitution was supposed to take us forward to a
uniform civil code and hopefully a truly secular society but with the politcos
that we have we have managed to import just about everything that is bad and
backward.
Muslims won't mind as long as they are killed by
fellow muslims. No protests against Saddam for his killing of Kurdish Muslims
or Taliban's killing of opponents who were Muslims. Muslims get upset if they are countered by Kaffirs.
